The 2020/21 State League 1 season all comes down to the grand final matchup between Wanneroo Giants and Morley Eagles. Braves Baseball Club 5 v Morley Eagles 3 - Semi Final 3 Morley nabbed the lead late in the game in a 5-3 victory over Braves on Saturday. The game was tied at three with Morley batting in the top of the tenth when Aaron Bonomi singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. The Eagles fired up the offense in the third inning, scoring a run on Kieran Chapman's double. In the top of the ninth inning, Morley tied things up at three when Chapman singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run. Lachy Southee was the winning pitcher for Morley. The hurler went seven innings, allowing three runs on 11 hits and nine strikeouts. Brendan Sing threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. Daniel Schmidt took the loss for the Braves. The lefthander surrendered one run on four hits over five innings, striking out four. Southee started the game for the Braves. The hurler surrendered three runs on 11 hits over seven innings, striking out nine. Schmidt started the game for Morley. The southpaw surrendered one run on four hits over five innings, striking out four. Morley had nine hits total and three apiece by Bonomi and Chapman. The Eagles were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error as Alex Hall made the most plays with 16. The Braves racked up 13 hits, including multiple from Sean Garratt, Tim Kennelly, Sam Kennelly, and Jordan Dyer. The Braves didn't commit a single error in the field as Kevin Clark had the most chances in the field with 11. Wanneroo Giants 9 v Gosnells Hawks 2 - Semi Final 3 Wanneroo Giants won 9-2 over Gosnells Hawks on Friday. The Giants got their offense started in the first when an error scored two runs. Tom Bailey got the win for Wanneroo. Bailey allowed two hits and one run over five innings, striking out eight. Chris King and Jackson Riley entered the game out of the bullpen to close it out in relief. Kane Silvi took the loss for Gosnells. The pitcher went three innings, allowing seven runs on nine hits, striking out three and walking one. Wanneroo totaled 11 hits as Irwin led the way with three hits in four at bats. Daniel Stephenson had multiple hits too. Gosnells racked up eight hits on the day including multiple to Robin Adamson and Louis Scaramella. Morley Eagles 6 v Braves Baseball Club 5 - Semi Final 2 An early lead helped Morley defeat Braves 6-5 on Thursday. Morley scored on a single by Kieran Chapman in the first inning and a sacrifice fly by Aaron Bonomi in the second. The game was tied 1-1 when Morley put two runs on in the second. Christopher House laid down a sacrifice bunt to score a run and Bonomi's sac fly scored another. After the Braves scored one run in the top of the eighth on a fielder's choice, Morley answered with one of their own with Matt Dixon's sac fly. Sing got the win for Morley. The bulldog surrendered five runs on 11 hits over nine innings, striking out five. Todd Hatcher took the loss for the Braves. The lefthander surrendered five runs on six hits over six and a third innings, striking out three. Morley racked up eight hits in the game. Zac McMillin went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the way while Alex Hall collected multiple hits too. The Eagles didn't commit a single error as Hall had the most chances in the field with seven. The Braves racked up 11 hits, including multiple from Kevin Clark, Sean Garratt, and Joel Beches. Clark led the team with three hits in four at bats. Gosnells Hawks 4 v Wanneroo Giants 3 - Semi Final 2 Gosnells Hawks snatched the lead late in the game in a 4-3 victory over Wanneroo on Wednesday. The game was tied at two with the Hawks batting in the bottom of the seventh when Robin Adamson singled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs. After Wanneroo scored one run in the top of the fourth on a RBI double from Daniel Bourke, Gosnells answered with one of their own as Jack Burt's singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run. Adam Millson earned the win for Gosnells. Millson lasted nine innings, allowing ten hits and three runs while striking out six. Jackson Riley took the loss for Wanneroo. The pitcher went one inning, allowing three runs on one hit and striking out one. Jay Bullingham started the game for Wanneroo. The righty lasted six innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out seven and walking zero. Joshua Silvi, Liam Collins, Jamie White, Burt, and Adamson each managed one hit for Gosnells. Wanneroo tallied ten hits with multiple from Madison Beaird and Nick Irwin. Braves Baseball Club 12 v Morley Eagles 7 - Semi Final 1 Jack Rigden was dialed in at the plate on Tuesday, tallying four hits and leading Braves to a 12-7 win over Morley. Rigden doubled in the first and singled in the first, third, and eighth. Both pitching staffs had their hands full, frequently dealing with runners on base as the Braves collected 12 hits and Morley had ten. Sean Garratt drew a walk, scoring the first runs for the Braves. Morley scored three runs in the ninth inning. Alex Hall, Ulrich Bojarski, and Zac McMillin all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning. Daniel Schmidt was the winning pitcher for the Braves. Schmidt went five innings, allowing three runs on five hits, striking out three and walking zero. Alex Oehme, Cameron Lamb, and Sam Kennelly all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory. Lachy Southee took the loss for Morley. Southee allowed one hit and five runs over two-thirds of an inning, striking out one. The Braves racked up 12 hits in the game. Rigden, Kennelly, and Daniel Choi all managed multiple as Rigden led with four hits in five at bats. Morley had ten hits in the game. Aaron Bonomi went 3-for-5 as McMillin and Hall had multiple hits too. Wanneroo Giants 15 v Gosnells Hawks 3 - Semi Final 1 Wanneroo got things moving right away in a 15-3 win over Gosnells on Monday. Madison Beaird singled on a 0-1 count, scoring the first run of the game. Chris King earned the victory on the hill. The righty surrendered one run on one hit over one inning, walking one. Ethan Cooper threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Tom Bailey started the game, surrendering zero runs on three hits over four innings, striking out five Joshua Silvi took the loss for Gosnells. Silvi allowed six hits and nine runs over two innings, striking out one. Nicholas Riley led Wanneroo with two hits in three at bats.
