Baseball WA is proud to announce the 2022 inductees for the Baseball WA Hall of Fame, which was launched last year with great success as a way to celebrate the outstanding achievements of the players, coaches, and officials who have shaped our beloved game across the state.

“It is with great pride that we announce the 2022 Baseball WA Hall of Fame inductees, who are incredibly deserving of this honour after outstanding and inspiring performances at the club, state, national, and/or international level,” Baseball WA CEO Lachlan Dale said. “After a wonderful inaugural year with 34 inductees, we look forward to adding these exceptional players and coaches to Hall of Fame status where they belong. It is an honour and a privilege to be able to recognise these elite athletes and officials who helped transform WA baseball into the thriving sport it is today.” The 2022 inductees will be recognised and officially inducted in front of their peers, family, and friends at the Baseball WA Awards Night held in April 2022. Rockingham 4 v South Perth 1 Rockingham Rams defeated South Perth Cubs on Wednesday night at Baseball Park, with the Rams getting on the board in the second inning on a wild pitch. South Perth knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the second inning on Patrick Temby's sac fly, but the Rams pulled away for good with an RBI single from Rui Harrison in the fourth. Samuel Sheppard took the win for Rockingham. The ace lasted four innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out three. Zachary Gomersall threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. John took the loss for South Perth. The hurler went four innings, allowing two runs on four hits, striking out four and walking one. Jaxon Limpus and Adam Barbarich each collected one for the Cubs as Temby had the most chances in the field with 12. Rockingham saw the ball well, racking up eight hits in the game. Thomas Flynn and Tomas Swinson each managed multiple hits while Jake Sheppard had the most chances in the field with six. This marked the Rams' fifth win as they play away at the Braves on Sunday. State League 1 is heading towards finals after another big weekend with Morley, Wanneroo, Braves, Vic Park, and South Perth rounding out the top five. Check out recaps from this past week: Rockingham 0 v Perth 20 Nothing came easy for Rockingham Rams on Wednesday as they fell 20-0 to Perth. Chris Lofthouse was the winning pitcher for Perth. The lefty went three innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits and striking out three. Zachary Gomersall took the loss for the Rams, allowing nine hits and ten runs over one and one-third innings, striking out one and walking zero. Perth collected 17 hits on the day. Brady Oliphant, Nathan Driessen, Kyle Francis, and Matt Sibley all had multiple hits as Oliphant went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead the way. Perth was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error as Driessen had the most chances with four. Perth will search for their eighth win at home v Morley on Sunday while Rockingham plays South Perth on Wednesday night at Empire Ballpark before an away game at the Braves on Sunday. Morley 9 v Swan Districts 9 Morley Eagles and Swan Districts Swans played to a 9-9 tie on Sunday, with the game was suspended as the day ran out. Morley tied the game on a wild pitch in the tenth inning. The Eagles racked up ten hits in the game as Luke Hughes went 3-for-5 and Josh Silvi and Kieran Chapman had multiple hits too. Swan Districts collected 14 hits with two apiece for Brody Clarkson, Maddux Stivey, and Dylan Bojarski. Morley sits atop the ladder with a 20-3-1 record and an away game at Perth on Sunday while the 10-9-3 Swans head to South Perth on Saturday. Rockingham 3 v Gosnells 1 Both teams were strong on the pitcher's mound Sunday, but Rockingham Rams defeated Gosnells Hawks 3-1. Brock Molloy allowed just one hit to the Hawks, who got things started in the first inning when Jack Burt drew a walk, scoring one run. Rockingham knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the first, when Samuel Sheppard doubled on a 1-0 count to score a run. The Rams pulled away for good with one run in the third inning on an error. Molloy got the win for Rockingham, throwing six innings, allowing one hit and one run while striking out two. Patrick Frezza took the loss for the Hawks as the righty went five and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs on four hits with eight strikeouts. Joshua Diggins, Zachary Gomersall, Joel Cooke, and Sheppard each managed one hit for the Rams. Liam Collins went 1-for-3 at the plate to lead Gosnells in hits. Rockingham will look for win number five at Empire Ballpark on Wednesday night vs. South Perth, followed by a Sunday away game at the Braves. 11-13 Gosnells plays at Vic Park this Sunday. Victoria Park Belmont 7 v Carine 4 Victoria Park Belmont Reds were victorious over Carine Cats 7-4 on Sunday. The Cats got things moving in the second inning as Carlos Salas drew a walk, scoring one run. The Reds quickly tied things up in the bottom half when Trent McDonnell's sac fly scored a run. Carine score on Tarrant Reimers' solo homer in the fifth and Vic Park answered when Zac Meloncelli singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run. The Reds pulled away for good with one run in the third inning as Joshua Greenham singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run. Andrew Hurrelbrink led things off on the mound for Vic Park. The fireballer surrendered one run on one hit over four innings, striking out six. Reimers was on the pitcher's mound for Carine. The bulldog went seven and two-thirds innings, allowing seven runs on 13 hits and striking out six. Cameron Landy threw one-third of an inning in relief. Matthew Reynolds had a homer in the fourth inning for the Reds as the team totaled 13 hits as Reynolds went 3-for-4 and Greenham, Meloncelli, and Roy Hotveldt had multiple hits. Tom Hartley led Carine with four hits in five at bats. Vic Park Belmont has a 15-8-2 record and hosts Gosnells on Sunday while Carine has an 8-15 record with a Sunday game at Wembley. Wanneroo 1 v South Perth 6 South Perth Cubs got things started in the first inning as Caleb Goodwin grounded out, scoring one run. Wanneroo tied things up at one in the bottom of the first on a Nick Irwin RBI. South Perth pulled away for good with two runs in the fifth inning when Goodwin singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run. Goodwin and Patrick Temby helped the Cubs score three more in the sixth while Will Sherriff led the way on the mound. The winning pitcher allowed three hits and one run over five innings, striking out eight and walking one. Lachlan McKinnon threw four innings in relief out of the bullpen. Tom Bailey took the loss for Wanneroo, giving up three runs on nine hits over five innings, striking out five. Irwin, Courtney Jones, Nicholas Riley, and Jacob Santich each managed one hit to lead the Giants. South Perth tallied 12 hits on the day including multiple for Adam Barbarich, Temby, Jaxon Limpus, and Kent Fitzgibbons. The team didn't commit a single error in the field either as Temby had the most chances with 11. South Perth has a 12-10 record and plays Rockingham on Wednesday at Empire Ballpark and Swan Districts at home on Saturday.
