Baseball WA is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Stephen Michael Foundation (SMF) to deliver participation programs across targeted regions of Western Australia.
Over the next two years, the two organisations will work together to promote baseball throughout the state through school-based programs and Sporting Schools, as well as coach and umpire development, talent identification, regional carnivals, and equipment acquisition. “Our partnership with SMF is an important step forward for expanding baseball opportunities to more young people in both metropolitan and regional areas,” BWA Participation Manager David Hayes said. “We greatly appreciate their support and look forward to a variety of upcoming programs designed to engage young people in sport and encourage participation in grassroots baseball.” Looking ahead to the future, there are visits planned to the Murchison and Northern Goldfields regions in Term 3 and a regional carnival in the October school holidays. SMF will also deliver Sporting Schools in both regions for BWA moving forward. "We are incredibly excited to be partnering with such an amazing organization and humbled to have the team on board,” SMF Operations Manager Liam Anthony said. “Baseball has already been such a hit in the past with the youth in our metro and regional areas and I know how much they will thrive with our new partnership and implementation of regular baseball."
