Baseball WA is pleased to announce plans for the inaugural Senior Baseball Club Championship, which will take place across five days from 27 to 31 March 2021 at Baseball Park in Thornlie.
The championship will incorporate six teams across Baseball WA’s top competitions: the regional champion from Port Hedland, the top three clubs from State League 3 and the top two clubs from A Grade at the end of the regular season. Where a side qualifies twice, the next team in A Grade will qualify for the tournament. There will be no limit to a team’s squad size for the tournament, though a restriction of 14 players per game will be enforced. Players must be eligible to play finals in State League 3 or lower. The format will be two pools of three where the top two in each pool progress to the semi-finals with a three-game guarantee. Each game will be a regulation nine innings with a two-hour time limit. Baseball WA looks forward to offering this opportunity for senior baseballers to take part in a fun, competitive tournament. “We are excited to introduce the Senior Baseball Club Championship at the end of the upcoming season,” Baseball WA CEO Lachlan Dale said. “It will be fantastic to add another element to WA baseball and this friendly competition will bring our baseball community together to create a new tradition, especially after finals were cut short by COVID-19 last season.” Comments are closed.
