Due to the latest WA Government restrictions which are in place for the foreseeable future with COVID cases expected to peak at the end of March and early April, Baseball WA has made the difficult decision to postpone the BWA Awards and Hall of Fame Dinner.
This is of course very disappointing for the clubs, members, and baseball community as this event is meant to not only celebrate the season’s best performers but also induct five members into the BWA Hall of Fame. However, the health and safety of our members remains our top priority, and whilst we navigate the remainder of the season and finals, hosting a prestigious event in the current climate presents too many unknowns. With the current government restrictions, the awards night would be capped at 150 inside with masks at all times, and limiting attendance is not ideal for such an important event. We feel it’s better to postpone the event until we can safely host more members of our baseball community. Baseball WA will still acknowledge and recognise the season award winners in some capacity to be confirmed, and we are focusing our time and resources to best support clubs for the remainder of the season and their finals campaigns. We encourage clubs to consider their ability to host awards dinners in the safest environment possible and will support them in doing so. Please visit the official WA Government website to view the latest COVID restrictions and updates, and contact BWA with any questions regarding your club or baseball activity. Comments are closed.
