The squad is set to take part in a camp at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra from April 3-11 as part of Boral Team Australia’s preparations for the 2021 WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup in Florida. Players were chosen following an in-depth review of information collected at the National Showcase Series events around the country earlier this year. Baseball Australia national player development manager Andrew Riddell said the expanded junior squad and camp would be a key step in the development of the chosen athletes. “We are impressed with the talent that was showcased in January and can’t wait to get them into the AIS in a camp environment and see how they measure up against each other,” Riddell said.
