Baseball Australia has announced the provisional 44-player list of invitees to April’s National Junior Camp, including eight players from Western Australia:
These athletes, along with their peers from NSW, QLD, VIC, and SA, were chosen for the camp following an in-depth review of data collected at the 2022 National Showcase Series events, including the Rays Showcase in WA. “After the success of the Rays Showcase Series for the second straight year, we are excited to see these deserving WA players invited to the National Junior Camp,” Baseball WA CEO Lachlan Dale said. “They have worked extremely hard to showcase their skills and improve their game, and we can’t wait to see what they accomplish at April’s camp and beyond.” Baseball WA High Performance Manager Andy Kyle shares the sentiment. “Congratulations to the Perth Heat Futures athletes, an opportunity to represent your country is always an honour and a huge accomplishment,” Kyle said. “It has been pleasing to see the progress of these athletes over the past 12 months, and I am proud of the way our WA players have handled themselves in such uncertain times. They have stayed the course and given themselves an opportunity to go to camp and put their best foot forwards.” “I am confident, along with the other high performance coaches, that we have chosen a very competitive squad for the Easter Camp.” After April’s camp, a National Junior Squad will be picked to travel to the U.S. in late August before being finalised ahead of the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup in Florida.
