West Coast Rays is Baseball WA's franchise in the Down Under Winter Classic (DUWC).
The 2023 event will take place on the Gold Coast QLD - 1st July to 8 July.
Teams will be chosen based on the age divisions outlined below. Players who will not be going to any of the Little League National Championship tournaments in any age division are eligible for nomination. Any player who does not play in the WA State Championship tournaments may also nominate however will only be considered if places on teams are available.
Once players are selected in their charter team for the 2023 tournaments (on or after Feb 1), all details about the West Coast Rays will be provided to them. All players who wish to be considered are encouraged to nominate in advance, regardless of opinion of whether their state championship team is likely to advance to the nationals. Players who do advance to nationals will automatically have their nomination deleted.

Costs - for budgeting purpose the approx cost per player will be $3,200 to BWA and $1,400 to DUWC. Players will pay two levies - one to DUWC. These payment are made directly to DUWC through their website. - one to BWA to cover flights, accommodation, ground transport, food allowance and sundries for all players and team personnel - this will be $100 on selection and the remaining amount prior to the tournament (BWA will provide an invoice).
