12 Player Team Scrimmage A great way to play a game with your team is the 4 player a side scrimmage.
How to play: Split your team up into 3 groups of 4.
Be sure to make teams accordingly. Allow for pitchers to be in each of the teams, as well as catchers.
Team 1: Batting
Team 2: Pitcher, Catcher, 1B, 2B
Team 3: SS, 3B, OF, OF
- Note: You will only have 2 OF so have them play centre left and centre right.
Once Team 1 has had their 3 outs, they rotate to OF, SS, 3B.
Team 2 now gets to hit, Team 3 moves to P, C, 1B, 2B.
Once Team 2 gets out, Team 3 now hits, with Team 1 now pitching, catching, 1B, 2B.
Dual Fungo Infield Routine The Dual Fungo (2 coaches hitting) is an effective drill for working on fielding and throwing mechanics. Players around the diamond receive a high amount of repetitions in a shorter time frame. Other coaches are able to keep an eye on fielding, feet work and throwing actions.
Seven Phases of Throwing Warm Up While throwing, get accustomed to grabbing four seamed grip, and exaggerate the mechanics of each phase. Warm-up by position, facing each other perpendicular to the foul line. The number of throws is only a suggestion for the minimum amount of throws. Each player is different and your arm might need more. Your partner should be of the same position.
