Santich doubled in the first inning to score a run and hit a 3-RBI triple in the fourth. Wanneroo got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Ben King hit a sacrifice fly, Courtney Jones grounded out, Santich doubled, Daniel Stephenson singled, and Daniel Bourke singled, each scoring one run. Frazer Brice earned the win for Wanneroo. The right-handed pitcher allowed zero hits and zero runs over one and one-third innings with one walk. Callum Schipp appeared in relief. Jacob Myer started the game for Wanneroo, giving up one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out two and walking four. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Riley Ozanne after a 7-pitch at-bat that drove in two. Dillian Clarkson opened the game for Swan Districts. The left-handed pitcher gave up six hits and three runs (one earned) over four and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking two. Conor Lourey started the game for Carine, allowing four hits and three runs over five innings with two walks and three strikeouts. Boston Foot pitched one and one-third innings of shutout ball for the Swans, giving up just one hit and a walk with a strikeout. The Swans accumulated nine hits in the game, including two apiece for Ozanne and Anthony Daniele. Michael De Gasperis led the team with two runs batted in. UWA Magpies were the first to get on the board when Eita Samukawa grounded out, scoring one run in the opening frame. Anthony Daniele hit a sacrifice fly, which helped Swans tie the game at one in the bottom of the first. They pulled ahead in the second when Riley Ozanne drew a bases-loaded walk to score a run. A sacrifice fly by Dan Carter extended the lead to 3-1. Chris Crawford stepped on the mound first for UWA Magpies. The starting pitcher gave up five hits and four runs over three and one-third innings, striking out none and walking three. Boston Foot appeared in relief for Swan Districts Swans. Victoria Park Belmont 11, Carine Cats 1 Sean Garratt hit two home runs and drove in three as Victoria Park Belmont defeated Carine Cats 11-1 on Sunday at Forster Park. Garratt hit a solo homer in the first and a two-run blast in the seventh. Curtis Bacon’s RBI single made it a 2-0 ballgame in the bottom of the second before the Reds added another ruin the third on Edwin Satisky’s sacrifice fly. The Reds racked up six runs in the fifth as Taiyo Kurosawa homered to left field, scoring two runs, Ryan Boyer hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and Mathew Martin homered to centre field, scoring three runs. Carine scored one run in the top of the seventh with Tarrant Reimers’ home run on the sixth pitch of the at-bat. Mizuki Akatsuka earned the win for Vic Park Belmont. The starting pitcher surrendered three hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out eight and walking one. Martin appeared in relief. Jordan Power took the loss for Carine, going four innings with three runs on seven hits and four strikeouts. The Reds collected 15 hits in the game, with multiple hits for Kurosawa, Satisky, Boyer, and Bacon. Sweeny hit a grand slam to left field in the seventh inning. Perth got on the board in the top of the second after South Perth made an error, followed by a Jalen McGee RBI single. Perth added five more runs in the top of the seventh inning on three hits. Devon Ramirez-Beaver singled, scoring a run before Sweeny’s grand slam. Brian (Tanner) Jessen-Dalton struck out 11 batters on the day, allowing five hits, four runs, and zero walks over five and one-third innings. Ramirez-Beaver appeared in relief for Perth. Warwick Saupold stepped on the hill for South Perth. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and two runs (zero earned) over four innings, striking out three and walking none. Perth tallied 13 hits in the game as McGee went 4-for-5. Ramirez-Beaver and Edgar Mundarain had multiple hits as well. South Perth recorded nine hits, led by Jake Bowey’s 3-for-5 performance. Braves 6, Morley Eagles 1 Braves were victorious against Morley 6-1 on Sunday at Crimea Park. They got on the board in the top of the first after James Smibert tripled, scoring two runs, and Cody Parkinson grounded out to score another. Braves added one run on a Jack Rigden double in the third, making the score 4-1. Campbell Froude opened the game for Braves, giving up four hits and one run over six innings, striking out one and walking three. Adam Millson started the game for Morley, allowing three hits and four runs (one earned) over three innings, striking out none and walking one. Todd Hatcher pitched three innings of no-run ball for Braves in relief, with no hits or walks, just five strikeouts. Rigden and Joel Beches each collected two hits for Braves. Smibert drove the middle of the lineup with two runs batted in. The winning side turned one double play in the game. Gosnells jumped out to the lead in the top of the third inning after an error scored two runs and Robin Adamson hit an RBI double. A bases-loaded walk by Joshua Diggins helped Rockingham tie the game at four in the bottom of the sixth. Vinnie Tarantola earned the win for Rockingham. The lefty allowed one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out five and walking one. Maclin Berry took the loss for Gosnells. The right-handed pitcher went one-third of an inning, allowing one run on zero hits, striking out one and walking three. Brock Molloy led things off on the bump for Rockingham. Joel Hughes, Carlos Salas, and Jordan Power combined for four of the team’s eight hits, scoring two runs. The pitching was strong on both sides. Carine pitchers struck out nine, while Perth sat down five. Carine got on the board in the fifth inning after Aden Browne singled, scoring two runs. Tarrant Reimers earned the win for Carine, giving up two hits and no runs over six innings with eight strikeouts. Jake White stepped on the mound first for Perth, allowing seven hits and three runs (two earned) over five and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking three. Morley tied the game up in the top of the sixth thanks to three singles, including an RBI base hit for Matt Dixon. Lachlan Waite started for Morley, allowing seven hits and four runs over three and two-thirds innings with no walks and three strikeouts. Kodai Hamaya led things off for UWA Magpies, giving up 10 hits and six runs in six and one-third innings with five strikeouts and two walks. The Reds jumped out to an early lead in the bottom of the first after Sean Garratt homered to left field, scoring two runs. Scott Comb drew a walk to score a run, Ryan Boyer brought in a runner on a sacrifice fly, and a wild pitch allowed two more to cross the plate. South Perth Souths 2, Carine Cats 0 South Perth Souths defeated Carine Cats 2-0 on Sunday at Carine Regional Open Space as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Both teams were strong on the mound. South Perth pitchers struck out 15 and Carine sat down 13. South Perth opened the scoring in the top of the fourth when Adam Barbarich singled. They scored two runs in the frame, which turned out to be all they needed for the game. Jake Bowey led things off on the mound for South Perth, giving up no hits or runs in six innings with nine strikeouts and a walk. Conor Lourey started for Carine, allowing three hits and two runs in seven innings with 10 strikeouts and two walks. Simon Baumer pitched three innings of no-run ball in relief for South Perth, with no hits, two walks and six strikeouts. Jaxon Limpus and Cameron Landy each collected two hits for South Perth. Landy went 2-for-4 at the plate as the infielder led the team with one run batted in. Carine visits Perth this Friday and South Perth plays a doubleheader at Swan Districts Swans on Sunday. Gosnells Hawks 6, UWA Magpies 2 The bottom of the lineup helped Gosnells Hawks capture a 6-2 victory over UWA Magpies on Sunday at UWA Sports Park. Riley Hall, Jarrod McKay, and David Burgess combined for four of the team’s eight hits in the victory. They scored four runs and drove in three. UWA Magpies opened the scoring in the first after an error scored one run. Gosnells Hawks took a 2-1 lead in the top of the third on singles by McKay and Louis Scaramella. Jack Burt earned the win for Gosnells, giving up two hits and one run (zero earned) over eight innings, striking out seven with no walks. Kodai Hamaya took the loss for UWA Magpies. The starting pitcher went seven innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on four hits, striking out nine and walking one. Maclin Berry appeared in relief for Gosnells. Next up for Gosnells is a game at Vic Park Belmont on Sunday, while UWA Magpies take on Morley in a doubleheader. Perth 13, Vic Park Belmont Reds 12 Jesse Barron collected four hits in five at-bats as Perth defeated Vic Park Belmont 13-12 on Sunday at Forster Park. Barron picked up four base hits across the fifth, sixth, seventh and ninth innings. Perth broke through when it was tied at 12 in the top of the tenth. Barron drew a walk, scoring one run. Vic Park Belmont opened the scoring on a single by Edwin Satisky in the fourth. Perth flipped the game on its head in the top of the sixth, scoring eight runs on five hits to take an 8-1 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Ronnie Sweeny to drive in two. Sean Garratt homered to left field, scoring two runs in the bottom of the sixth for the Reds. They added two more in the seventh on another homer, this time off the bat of Cody Van Der Graaf. Vic Park Belmont scored seven runs on four hits for a 12-11 lead in the bottom of the eighth. A triple by Jack Smalpage drove in two. Austin Moyle doubled, which helped Perth tie the game at 12 in the top of the ninth. Tanner Jessen-Dalton opened the game for Perth, giving up just two hits and one run over five innings with a walk and eight strikeouts. Kaine Newham, Jordano Vivona, and Jake White each appeared in relief. Curtis Bacon started on the hill for Vic Park Belmont. He gave up six hits and six runs (five earned) over five innings, striking out three and walking none. Perth collected 13 hits in the game. Finlay Duncan led the team with four runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The left fielder went 1-for-5 on the day. White collected two hits for Perth in five at-bats, too. The defense had some good moments, turning two double plays. Vic Park Belmont had 12 hits, including three apiece for Satisky and Garratt. Satisky, Van Der Graaf, Smalpage, and Garratt had two RBIs apiece. Ryan Boyer went 2-for-5 and Taiyo Kurosawa led with three of the team’s seven walks. They also turned one double play in the game. Swan Districts Swans 6, Rockingham Rams 3 Cameron Liss was dominant on the mound, striking out 11 in Swan Districts’ 6-3 victory over Rockingham on Sunday at Hourglass Reserve. Liss gave up three hits and one run over five innings while walking four. The Swans struck first when Riley Ozanne drew a walk to score a run in the second. They added five more on six hits in the top of the fifth. The runs came as Michael De Gasperis singled, Daniel Johnston grounded out, and Boston Foot and Ozanne singled. An error scored one more. Brock Molloy stepped on the bump first for Rockingham. He gave up nine hits and six runs (four earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking two. Swan Districts recorded 12 hits in the game, with three apiece for Ozanne and De Gasperis. Ozanne seized opportunities, leading the side with two runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. The second baseman went 3-for-3 on the day. The Swans didn’t commit a single error in the field as Dan Carter had the most chances with 17. Rockingham leadoff hitter Joshua Diggins had two hits in four at-bats. The Rams worked the count all day, collecting seven walks throughout the game. Swan Districts host a doubleheader vs. South Perth on Sunday and Rockingham plays Wanneroo on Saturday. Wanneroo Giants 8, Morley Eagles 1 Wanneroo Giants took care of business 8-1 against Morley Eagles on Sunday at Crimea Park. Morley opened the scoring in the first after Luke Hughes hit an RBI single. Wanneroo took a 3-1 lead in the top of the fourth thanks to singles by Courtney Jones and Dawson Summers. Frazer Brice stepped on the mound first for Wanneroo. The righty gave up four hits and one run over seven innings, striking out eight and walking one. Jackson Riley and Rob Sorenson pitched in relief. Adam Millson led things off on the hill for Morley. The starting pitcher allowed three hits and three runs over four innings, striking out two and walking two. The first trial date is Wednesday 24 January at Empire Ballpark from 9am to 12pm. A second trial date may be required and will be announced to all participants. Nominations can be accessed HERE.
