Baseball Australia has announced the invitees for the Under 16 National Camp, with six WA players making the cut.
Congrats to George Calverley, Quinn Fatai, Lenny Golding, Austin Moyle, Ben Nesbit, and Adam Taylor! The camp is set for late September and will see 40 players from across the country enter into the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) in Canberra, completing the National Junior Program’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. Players were selected based on performances at the 2023 Australian Youth Championships this past January. The camp will offer a combination of on-field skill development and workshops with world-renowned AIS staff, giving players the chance to test their development against their peers in a series of squad games. The NCAA Division I Council approved recruiting changes that will eliminate recruiting communication between college coaches and players until 1 August of Year 11.
The new rules make 1 August the first day when players and college coaches can communicate. The 1 August date will also be the first day third-parties can act as intermediaries between college coaches and players/families. What does this mean for Australian players?
