Wembley, Swan Districts, Vic Park Belmont, South Perth, Carine, Perth, and Braves picked up important victories in Harcher State League this week. Wembley 12, Carine 2 Carine Cats lost the lead late in a 12-2 defeat to Wembley Magpies on Wednesday. The game was tied at two with Wembley batting in the top of the fourth when Adam England singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs. Carine tied things up at two in the bottom of the second when Conor Lourey singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs. Wembley scored seven runs in the fifth inning as Eita Samukawa, Riley Spring, Nick Alexiou, and Henry Kellen all moved runners across the plate with RBIs. Chris Crawford got the win for Wembley, throwing five innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out six. Jacob Stanton took the loss for Carine. The hurler allowed seven hits and five runs over three innings, walking one. Lourey, Olal Carter, and Andre Bello each collected one hit to lead Carine. Wembley totaled 11 hits in the game. Samukawa went 3-for-3 as England and Spring had multiple hits, too. Kellen led Wembley with two of their seven stolen bases, while the side didn’t make any errors in the field. Joshua Houston had the most chances with six. Swan Districts 4, Vic Park Belmont 3 Saturday's game against Swan Districts Swans was a heartbreaker for Victoria Park Belmont Reds as they lost the lead late in a 4-3 defeat. The game was tied at three with Swans batting in the top of the eighth when Conor Parry singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run. The Reds tied things up at two in the bottom of the fourth on Cole Jenkins’ single. Marshall Shill led the Swan Districts to victory on the hill. The bulldog went eight innings, allowing three runs on three hits, striking out 12 and walking zero. Josh Paull took the loss for Vic Park Belmont. The bulldog went one and two-thirds innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out one and walking zero. Matthew Martin started the game for the Reds. Martin surrendered three runs on six hits over six and a third innings, striking out two. Jenkins led Vic Park Belmont with two hits in three at-bats. Swan Districts totaled seven hits, with multiple hits for Daniel Johnston and Parry. Vic Park Belmont 7, Swan Districts 5 Swan Districts Swans fell 7-5 to Vic Park Belmont in game two despite out-hitting them ten to eight. Curtis Bacon got the win for the Reds, giving up four runs on five hits over five innings, striking out five and walking one. Dillian Clarkson took the loss for Swan Districts, giving up four runs on three hits over four and a third innings, striking out two. Daniel Meloncelli started the game for the Reds. He went four innings, allowing one run on five hits with a strikeout. Swan Districts collected ten hits. Dustin Brown, Demias Jimerson, and Michael De Gasperis had two hits apiece. The Reds collected eight hits on the day, including multiple hits for Sean Garratt and Zac Meloncelli. South Perth 8, Morley 7 It came down to the wire on Saturday, with South Perth Souths taking the victory on a dramatic walk-off. The game was tied at seven with South Perth batting in the bottom of the tenth when Jai Hewitt drew a walk, scoring one run. There was plenty of action on the basepaths as South Perth collected ten hits and Morley Eagles had eight. Morley got on the board in the first inning. Luke Hughes doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs. After Morley scored one run in the top of the eighth, South Perth answered with one of their own. Morley scored when Aaron Bonomi doubled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring one run. South Perth responded when Lochy Southee induced Kent Fitzgibbons to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored. South Perth tied things up at seven in the bottom of the ninth, scoring two runs when Caleb Goodwin doubled. Joshua Rawlinson pitched South Perth to victory. The fireballer lasted four innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out three. Goodwin started the game for South Perth. The ace lasted six innings, allowing six hits and six runs while striking out four. Kodai Hamaya started the game for Morley. The hurler allowed five hits and three runs over three innings, striking out three and walking zero. South Perth racked up ten hits. Haden Keller went 3-for-5 as Jaxon Limpus and Max Wheeler had multiple hits, too. Cameron Landy stole two bases. Morley tallied eight hits in the game with Hughes leading the way, going 3-for-5. Carine 2, Rockingham 1 Sunday's game against Carine Cats was a heartbreaker for Rockingham Rams, as they lost the lead late in a 2-1 defeat. The game was tied at one with Carine batting in the top of the sixth when Joel Hughes hit a solo homer. The pitching was strong on both sides. Carine pitchers struck out five, while Rockingham sat down eight. Rockingham knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the fourth inning, when Tomas Swinson doubled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run. Carine pulled away for good with one run in the sixth inning as Hughes hit a solo homer. Tarrant Reimers pitched Carine to victory. The pitcher lasted six and two-thirds innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out three. Cas Silber threw two and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen. Brock Molloy took the loss for Rockingham, lasting six innings, allowing seven hits and two runs while striking out six and walking zero. Mitchell Field went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Rockingham in hits. Carine collected nine hits on the day, with multiple hits for Cooper McDonnell, Tim Robinson, Silber, and Hughes. Perth 1, Gosnells 0 Perth defeated Gosnells Hawks 1-0 on Sunday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. The pitching was strong on both sides. Perth pitchers struck out 13, while Gosnells pitchers sat down three. A single by Eli Von Garsen in the second inning was a positive for Gosnells. Peter Reyes got the win for Perth. The righty lasted six innings, allowing three hits and zero runs while striking out 11. Guillaime Duguay threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. Liam Baron took the loss for Gosnells Hawks. The lefty went five innings, allowing one run on four hits and striking out one. Ezzard Bryant went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Perth in hits. Braves 4, Wanneroo 1 Wanneroo Giants fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 4-1 loss to Braves on Sunday. Braves scored on a walk by Josh Kennelly in the first inning and a double by Geoff Kerr in the second. Braves got their offense started in the first when Kennelly drew a walk, scoring one run. Tucker Smith was the winning pitcher for Braves. Smith lasted nine innings, allowing seven hits and one run while striking out seven. Frazer Brice took the loss for Wanneroo. The righthander surrendered three runs on three hits over three innings, striking out two. Courtney Jones went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Wanneroo in hits. Braves 2, Gosnells 0 Both teams were strong on the hill on Wednesday, but Braves was just a little bit stronger at the plate in a victory over Gosnells Hawks on Wednesday. Liam Baron started the game for Gosnells and recorded 19 outs. A single by Liam Collins in the first inning was a positive for Gosnells. Tucker Smith was the winning pitcher for Braves. The bulldog went three and a third innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out six and walking zero. Baron took the loss for the Hawks, giving up two runs on six hits over six and a third innings, striking out four and walking one. Flynn McGahan started the game for Braves. The righty lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out four and walking one. Jamie White, Collins, and Robin Adamson each managed one hit to lead Gosnells. Braves scattered seven hits in the game, including multiple for Smith and Jack Rigden. The winning side didn't commit a single error in the field as Kevin Clark had 11 chances, the most on the team. Wanneroo 12, Vic Park Belmont 0 It was a tough day on Sunday for Victoria Park Belmont Reds, who lost 12-0 to Wanneroo Giants. A single by Joshua Greenham in the fourth inning was a positive for the Reds. Tom Bailey earned the win for Wanneroo. The righthander surrendered zero runs on three hits over five innings, striking out two and walking one. Jordan Matos and Frazer Brice entered the game out of the bullpen to pitch in relief. Matthew Martin took the loss for Vic Park. The hurler lasted four innings, allowing eight hits and seven runs while striking out two and walking one. Greenham, Cole Jenkins, and Ryan Boyer each collected one hit to lead the Reds. Wanneroo tallied 16 hits in the game. Nicholas Riley, Courtney Jones, Ethan Cooper, Troy Bullingham, and Nick Irwin each managed multiple hits for the Giants. Riley went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead the way. The Giants were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Irwin made the most plays with seven. Wembley trailed 3-2 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Matic Lesnjak tripled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs. The Magpies fired up the offense in the first inning with Nick Alexiou's RBI double. Carine knotted the game up at one in the top of the third inning. Cooper McDonnell drew a walk, scoring one run. Lukas Bickel was the winning pitcher for Wembley, allowing one hit and zero runs over one and one-third innings, walking zero. Alexiou threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Harcher State League is heating up with Vic Park Belmont defeating ladder leaders Morley as Perth and Wanneroo split their double header. Morley 12, Braves 6 Both Morley Eagles and Braves had their offenses going on Wednesday but Morley eventually prevailed 12-6 in the high-scoring affair. Morley got things started in the first inning when Kieran Chapman singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run. Braves evened things up at one in the bottom of the second inning when Lochlann Varian singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. After Morley scored one run in the top of the fifth, Braves answered with one of their own. Morley scored when Luke Hughes singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run. Braves then responded when Daniel Choi singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run. Morley pulled away for good with six runs in the third inning. Chapman singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run, Matt Dixon singled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs, Adam Millson doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs, and an error scored another. Lachlan Waite earned the win for Morley. Waite lasted two innings, allowing two hits and four runs while walking zero. The game was tied at nine with Vic Park batting in the top of the seventh when Curtis Bacon doubled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run. Adam Millson collected four hits in defeat. Millson singled in the second, singled in the fourth, homered in the fifth, and homered in the ninth. Morley opened up scoring in the third inning when Kieran Chapman homered on a 2-0 count, scoring three runs. After Vic Park scored three runs in the top of the fifth, Morley answered with three of their own. The Reds scored when Cole Jenkins singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run and Bacon grounded out, scoring two runs. Zac Meloncelli drove in one on a triple. The Reds took the lead for good with five runs in the seventh inning. An error scored two before Ryan Boyer doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring two more. Jordano Vivona, Brady Oliphant, Edgar Mundarain, Nathan Driessen, and Sweeny all had one hit to lead Perth. The Rams' big bats were led by Stuart Sara, David Nichols, Mitchell Field, and Joshua Diggins, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning. They scored on a walk by Burt, a single by Joseph Scaramella, a sacrifice fly by Jarrod McKay, and a single by Sam Forrest all in the first inning. Gosnells tallied 16 runs in the fourth inning. The offensive firepower was led by Forrest, Lee Wisby, Burt, Jamie White, Scaramella, and Forrest, who each had RBIs in the inning. Jameson Kruger led Gosnells to victory on the mound. Kruger lasted four innings, allowing two hits and three runs while striking out three. White and Burt entered the game out of the bullpen to throw in relief.
