Rockingham Rams 13-2 South Perth Cubs W: Mitchell Field (1-0), L: Tommy Albert (0-1) The Rockingham Rams scored early and often, producing a strong all-round performance to defeat the South Perth Cubs 13-2 on Wednesday night. The Rams scored all 13 runs within the first five innings as they cruised to victory. Leadoff man Chase Diggins led the Rockingham offence, going 3-4 with three runs and three RBIs, while Thomas DeBonville homered and drove in a pair. Mitchell Field claimed the win on the mound, pitching 6.2 stellar frames, while Tommy Albert was tagged with the loss. South Perth Cubs 2-9 Braves
W: Alex Oeheme (3-2), L: Will Sherriff (3-1) Things wouldn’t get any better for the South Perth Cubs as they fell to their second defeat of the week – this time a 9-2 loss at the hands of Braves. Shortstop Ian Yetsko was the star of the show for Braves, going a staggering 5-5 with a home run, while designated hitter Cody Parkinson went 3-3 with a home run and three RBIs. On the mound, Alex Oeheme and Cameron Lamb combined to strike out six Cubs batters as Braves eased to victory. Swan Districts Swans 2-3 Perth W: Guillaume Duguay (5-3), L: Dillon Clarkson (1-6) Perth held off a fast-finishing Swan Districts Swans side to escape from their Sunday fixture with a tight 3-2 win. After taking an early 3-0 lead, Perth were made to work for their win as Perth scored a couple of late runs. Perth starter Guillaume Duguay tossed a complete game – striking out five batters on route to his fifth win of the season. Aidan Austen led Perth, scoring two runs and collecting a pair of knocks in the win. Carine Cats 6-1 Wanneroo Giants W: Cody Holt (3-0), L: Chris King (4-2) The Carine Cats claimed the bragging rights on Sunday, defeating northern rivals, the Wanneroo Giants 6-1. The Cats jumped out of the blocked – scoring five runs in the top of the first inning to knock off the ladder-leaders. Cody Holt pitched an epic complete game for Carine, striking out two batters. In the batter’s box, Tairea Thompson and Jordano Vivona both drove in a pair of runs for the Cats as they inflicted Chris King with the loss. Gosnells Hawks 3-1 Wembley Magpies W: Adam Millson (2-3), L: Thomas Roijers (1-4) Adam Millson struck out seven batters across a complete game gem as the Gosnells Hawks took care of the Wembley Magpies 3-1. The Magpies battled, even out hitting the Hawks, but were unable to get over the line thanks to Millson’s strong outing. Wembley starter Thomas Roijers matched it with Millson’s all the way – punching out five batters over nine frames. Michael Robideau and Ryan Smith drove in the runs for Gosnells as they moved within half a game of the top five. Victoria Park/Belmont Reds 0-9 Morley Eagles W: Troy Cruz (1-0), L: Michael Ryan (1-2) The Morley Eagles flexed their offensive muscles to down the Victoria Park/Belmont Reds 9-0 to round out the Week 12 fixtures. The Eagles bats combined for 14 team hits, with Troy Cruz and Chris House each driving in a pair of runs. Zach McMillin and Matt Dixon both went 3-4 on the afternoon, while Locky Southee Cruz and Brendan Sing combined to shutout the Reds offence. The trio struck out a combined 12 batters in the win.
