Outfielder Douglas Trimble did most of the damage at the plate, driving in five runs across the day – all of which came in the late game, while Adam Courcha and Louis Scaramella each recorded three RBIs. On the mound, Josh Silvi picked up the win in relief during game one, while new recruit Josh Rawlinson claimed his first victory in Gosnells colours in the second game. Perth starter Guilliame Dugauy was the star in game one – fanning seven batters across seven shutout innings to claim the win, while Jake White and Benn Watson scored the decisive runs. Swans bounced back in game two as starting pitcher Riley Moore pitched a gem of his own – striking out seven through a complete game. Shortstop Gotta Nick collected a pair of RBIs on three base hits. Game 1: Wanneroo Giants 8-1 Carine Cats W: Chris King (2-0), L: Devon Ramirez (0-1) Game 2: Wanneroo Giants 9-6 Carine Cats W: Jay Bullingham (2-0), L: Josh McAdams (0-1) The Wanneroo Giants remained unbeaten in the State League 1 competition after brushing aside local rivals the Carine Cats during a double header sweep. Madison Beaird led the Wanneroo charge with six base hits across the afternoon, while Jake Turnbull and Donrie Hunnard both homered. On the mound, Chris King pitched a complete game to record the win in game one, while Jay Bullingham picked up his second win of the campaign in relief of Tom Bailey in game two. Game 1: Morley Eagles 1-5 Victoria Park/Belmont Reds W: Dylan Brammer (1-0), L: Lachie Waite (1-1) Game 2: Morley Eagles 1-2 Victoria Park/Belmont Reds W: Matthew Martin (1-1), L: Chris House (0-1) In the surprise result of the round, Victoria Park/Belmont Reds took both ends of their double header against the defending champions, the Morley Eagles. The wins were Victoria Park’s first of the season. After taking game one by a score of 5-1 off the back of Dylan Brammer’s complete game, the Reds capped off the perfect afternoon by earning a dramatic walk-off extra innings win in game two. Tied at 1-1, Mitchell Waterhouse’s 10th inning sacrifice fly was enough to hand the Reds victory and condemn Morley to their third loss of the season. Game 1: Braves 0-8 South Perth Cubs W: Tony Olson (1-0), L: Alex Oehme (0-1) Game 2: Braves 6-2 South Perth Cubs W: Harksen (1-0) L: Watson (0-1) In a tale of two games, Braves and the South Perth Cubs split their double header. After taking game one by a comprehensive score of 8-0, the Cubs were brought back down to earth as the Braves levelled the afternoon with a 6-2 game two win. The Cubs stormed to victory in game one behind a complete game from Tony Olson and two RBIs apiece from Max Wheeler and David Snow, before the Braves racked up 11 team hits to take game two.
