Rockingham Rams 8 v Braves 12 Rockingham fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 12-8 loss to Braves Baseball Club on Sunday. The Braves scored on a single by Donald Ismail in the first inning and a base hit by Joshua Morris in the second. Despite the loss, Rockingham did collect 13 hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately for the Rams, their opponents had 16 hits on the way to victory. The Braves opened up scoring in the first inning when Ismail singled on a 3-2 count to bring home a run. Rockingham scored six runs in the seventh inning on singles by Cooper Davey, Jeff Wishart, and Mike Thompson and a double by Graeme Cook. The Braves scored nine runs in the fifth inning on RBIs from Steve McLaughlin, Grant Lawson, Jordan Nuttall, Stuart Vaughan-Davies, and Morris. Yuuki Ishikawa was on the pitcher's mound for the Braves, giving up eight runs on 13 hits over six and a third innings, striking out four and walking zero. Matt Tapscott started the game for Rockingham and lasted four innings, allowing 13 hits and ten runs while striking out one. Thompson threw three innings in relief. Rockingham collected 13 hits, including two apiece for Thompson, Cook, Wishart, and Bruce Hepburn. Ismail, Morris, Neil Major, Michael Ewart, Lawson, and Nuttall all collected multiple hits for the Braves, who play Kalamunda on Tuesday night. Rockingham Rams 8 v Port Hedland Reds 5 Port Hedland fell behind early and couldn't come back in an 8-5 loss to Rockingham Rams on Sunday. Rockingham scored on a single by Graeme Cook and an error in the second inning. Port Hedland scored three runs in the seventh inning with RBIs from Kris Brown and Matt Kean. Rockingham scored four runs in the seventh inning. The big inning came thanks to a walks by Cooper Davey, Wade Felton, and Josh Eddy. Jeff Wishart took the win for Rockingham after throwing five innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out seven. Simon Scherbarth threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Brown took the loss for Port Hedland. The bulldog allowed ten hits and eight runs over seven innings, striking out six. Port Hedland racked up six hits with two apiece from Brown and Eugene Cheong. Rockingham saw the ball well today, racking up ten hits in the game. Rhys Thompson, Cook, Wishart, and Eddy all had multiple hits. The Rams play Wanneroo next while Port Hedland plays Kalamunda.
