Little League Division 1 Coastal Bay Sharks 17 - Southern Hills Warriors 2 The Sharks collected 11 hits and gave up just one in a big victory, scoring 12 in the first, three in the second, and two in the third. The Warriors scored two in the second. Byron M., Koby T., and Tremaine R. had two hits apiece with Rhys W. taking two walks. Koby had three RBIs in three quality at-bats while Byron and Rhys batted in one run each. Shante A. threw 2.2 innings with 11 first pitch strikes and a 1.88 WHIP for the Warriors. Zach T. had three first pitch strikes and a strikeout. Taylor C. had a 0.00 WHIP for the Sharks with five strikeouts. Rhys W. threw 1.1 innings with four first pitch strikes and a 2.25 WHIP. Central Firebirds 16 - Southern Titans 15 Southern Titans lost the lead late in a 16-15 defeat to Central Firebirds on Thursday. The game was tied at 14 with the Firebirds batting in the top of the eighth when an error scored one run. The Titans collected seven hits and the Firebirds had eight in the high-scoring affair. The Titans fired up the offense in the first inning when Leonard G hit a solo homer. Central tied things up at 14 in the top of the sixth when Joel V singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. The Titans put up seven runs in the fifth inning with RBIs from Jordan M, Jack B, and Mark H. The Firebirds scored seven runs in the sixth inning, driven by an error on a ball put in play by Oliver H and Connor O, a single by Joel, and a groundout by Jon L. Joel was on the mound for the Firebirds. The righthander lasted two innings, allowing two hits and two runs while striking out three. Leonard led things off on the hill for the Titans. The righty surrendered zero runs on one hit over one and two-thirds innings, striking out two. The Titans tallied seven hits in the game. Mark and Leonard had two hits apiece. Joel led the Firebirds with three hits in five at bats. Eastern Phantoms 17 - Southern Hills Warriors 7 Scorekeepers were kept busy today during a high-scoring contest between Eastern Phantoms and Southern Hills where the Phantoms prevailed 17-7. The Warriors got things started in the first inning as an error scored two runs. The Phantoms took the lead for good with seven runs in the third inning. Ky M drew a walk, scoring one run, Arata S doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs, and Zai G drew a walk, scoring one run. The Warriors scored three runs in the second inning on a walk by Jesse R. Tex P toed the rubber for the Phantoms. The righty allowed one hit and five runs over one and one-third innings, striking out three. Jett M was on the hill for the Warriors. The pitcher lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing one hit and seven runs while striking out five. Rylan O, Jesse, and Harry D each contributed in relief. Marcus W, Ky, Sebastian C, Tex, Arata, and Kayden P each collected one hit for the Phantoms. Wanneroo Giants 3 - Carine Cats 7 Carine Cats took the lead for good with three runs in the fourth inning when Jacksyn W tripled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs. Jackson H was on the hill for Carine. The pitcher allowed one hit and three runs over two innings, striking out three. Dylan B was on the mound for Wanneroo. The pitcher went two innings, allowing one run on zero hits, striking out five and walking zero. Cooper B and Sebastian B entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two and a third innings and one and two-thirds innings respectively.
