2021 Think Again Little League State Championships - Day 3 Wrap

The exciting competition continues at the 2021 Think Again Little League State Championships at Wanneroo Giants Baseball Club.

Little League Division 1 

Coastal Bay Sharks 13 - Southern Hills Warriors 3
Coastal Bay Sharks defeated Southern Hills Warriors 13-3 thanks to a strong start and an early lead. Coastal Bay scored on a single by Koby T in the first inning.

Rhys W led the Sharks to victory on the mound. Rhys allowed one hit and one run over one inning, striking out three and walking one. Tane B threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Kyron S took the loss for the Warriors. The righty surrendered four runs on one hit, striking out one and walking one.

Tyler F started the game for the Sharks. The pitcher lasted one and one-third innings, allowing two hits and two runs while striking out three.

Rhys went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the Sharks in hits.

Central Firebirds 13 - Carine Cats 10
Saturday's game against Central Firebirds was a heartbreaker for Carine Cats, as they lost the lead late in a 13-10 defeat. The game was tied at six with the Firebirds batting in the top of the fifth when Zen B drew a walk, scoring one run.​

The Cats collected eight hits and the Firebirds had nine in the high-scoring affair. The Firebirds got their offense started in the first inning when Tate V doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Carine tied things up at six by scoring one run on a stolen base. The Cats tallied four runs in the sixth inning. Jackson H, Oliver N, and Matthew F all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

The Firebirds scored five runs in the third inning, driven by walks from Dylan T and Zen, a single by Connor O, and a double by Oliver H.

Harrison A toed the rubber for the Firebirds. The righthander went four innings, allowing six runs on three hits and striking out seven.

Ashton C was on the mound for Carine. The hurler lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and six runs while striking out five. Jacksyn W, Wyatt A, and Finley S each contributed in relief for the Cats.

Carine collected eight hits including two apiece for Jacksyn and Oliver. The team didn't commit a single error in the field as Matthew had the most chances with nine.

The Firebirds tallied nine hits on the day. Connor led with four hits in five at-bats and Logan H had multiple hits too. Harrison had four of the Firebirds' 10 stolen bases. The side didn't make any errors either as Jon L had the most chances in the field with ten.


Eastern Phantoms 14 - Coastal Bay Sharks 2
Coastal Bay Sharks watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 14-2 loss to Eastern Phantoms on Saturday. The Phantoms scored on a single by Ethan S, a single by Kayden P, and an error in the first inning.

The Phantoms scored four runs in the fifth inning with RBIs from Austin T, Thomas A, and Kayden.

Ethan got the start for the Phantoms. The righthander surrendered two runs on three hits over five innings, striking out four.

Luan V was on the hill for the Sharks, covering went three innings, allowing eight runs on seven hits, and striking out three. Tremaine R threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Luan, Lincoln G, and Taylor C all had one hit to lead the Sharks while the Phantoms' Ethan had two hits in three at bats.

Wanneroo Giants 18 - Southern Titans 1
Southern Titans had trouble keeping up with Wanneroo Giants in an 18-1 loss on Saturday.

Riley L got the start for Wanneroo. The fireballer went three innings, allowing one run on four hits and striking out two.

Leonard G led things off on the mound for the Titans. The righthander went two-thirds of an inning, allowing four runs on three hits, striking out one and walking one. Liam Z threw two and a third innings out of the bullpen.

Shaun A, Lachlan W, Jordan M, and Callum S each collected one hit to lead the Titans.

The Giants totaled 14 hits including multiple from Hyte B, Cooper B, Ryder C, and Toby K.

Carine Cats 5 - Southern Titans 11
Southern Titans took the lead late and defeated Carine Cats 11-5 on Saturday. The game was tied at four with the Titans batting in the bottom of the fifth when an error scored one run. 

The Cats
 scored three runs in the second inning, but the Titans still managed to pull out the victory. Carine's offensive firepower was led by Campbell B, Ashton C, and Matthew T, all knocking in runs in the inning.
Conor S led things off on the hill for the Titans. The righty lasted two innings, allowing three hits and four runs while striking out one.

Oliver N toed the rubber for Carine, surrendering one run on two hits over two innings, striking out four and walking one. Campbell and Jake C entered the game as relief, throwing two innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively.

The Titans
 collected six hits on the day. Jordan M and Leonard G had two hits each.

Sullivan W went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Carine in hits.

Wanneroo Giants 8 - Central Firebirds 7

​Wanneroo Giants seized victory in dramatic walk-off fashion, thanks to a walk-off error at the end of the game to topple Central Firebirds. The game was tied at seven with the Giants batting in the bottom of the seventh when an error scored one run.

Wanneroo
 collected ten hits and the Firebirds had nine in the high-scoring affair.

Central
 captured the lead in the second inning when Oliver H lined out, scoring one run.

The Giants knotted the game up at seven in the bottom of the sixth inning. Riley L drove in one on a single.

The Giants
 tallied three runs in the fourth inning, with RBIs from Hyte B, Dylan B, and Ben H.

The Firebirds 
scored three runs in the sixth inning thanks to singles by Joel V and Tate V.

Jordan S toed the rubber for the Giants. The fireballer surrendered three runs on four hits over one inning, striking out one and walking one.

Connor O was on the mound for the Firebirds and lasted three and a third innings, allowing five hits and four runs while striking out five. Dylan T threw three and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen.

The Giants
 collected ten hits on the day. Hyte went 3-for-4 and Cooper B had multiple hits too.

The Firebirds racked up nine hits including multiple from Joel and Connor.
 
Little League Division 2 

Central Firebirds 12 v Southern Hills Warriors 2
Central Firebirds won big over Southern Hills Warriors 12-2 on Saturday.

The Firebirds got on the board in the first inning when Lucas D singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. They put up five runs in the fourth inning as Alexander S had an RBI stolen base to lead the run scoring.

Callum H was on the mound for the Firebirds, surrendering two runs on three hits over three innings, striking out one and walking one.

Ryder W started the game for the Warriors. The bulldog lasted one and one-third innings, allowing three hits and four runs. Corey C and Lachlan V entered the game as relief, throwing one and one-third innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively.

The Firebirds 
racked up nine hits on the day. Chayce H and Alexander C had two hits each.

Wanneroo Giants 22 - Central Firebirds 1
Wanneroo scored 11 runs in each of the first two innings to get the win. Taylor B led the way with two hits and three quality at-bats while Lucas C. and Mason E. also had a pair of hits.

Taylor knocked in four of Wanneroo's runs while Declan M had three RBIs and Harry W. had two.

Chayce B threw two innings for Wanneroo with six first-pitch strikes, three strikeouts, and a 1.50 WHIP. Mitchell E. struck out two in one inning with a 2.00 WHIP.

Chayce H. threw five first-pitch strikes in an inning of work for the Firebirds.

Sun City Thunder 2 - Wanneroo Giants 12
Wanneroo Giants asserted their will over Sun City Thunder on their way to an easy 12-2 victory.

The Giants got on the board in the first inning. Taylor B hit into a fielder's choice, scoring one run. They notched five more runs in the fourth with RBIs from Zacc S, Brayden G, Isaac A, and Declan M.

Harry W led things off on the mound for the Giants. The righthander surrendered zero runs on one hit over one and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking zero.

Michael W was on the hill for Sun City Thunder. The pitcher went three innings, allowing nine runs on two hits and striking out five. Anders W threw one-third of an inning in relief.

Oliver B, Harry, Isaac, and Brayden each collected one hit to lead the Giants.

Timothy L went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Thunder in hits.
