Little League Division 1 Elimination Final 1: Central Firebirds 9 - Southern Hills Warriors 6 Central Firebirds ran off with the lead late in the game in a 9-6 victory over Southern Hills Warriors on Sunday. The game was tied at five with the Firebirds batting in the bottom of the fifth when Oliver H doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs. The Warriors scored five runs in the third inning, but the Firebirds still managed to pull out the victory. They opened up scoring in the first inning, when an error scored a run. Tate V was on the pitcher's mound for the Firebirds. The righty went three innings, allowing five runs on four hits and striking out nine. Harry D was on the hill for Southern Hills. The righthander allowed seven hits and seven runs over four innings, striking out six and walking zero. Zach T threw one inning in relief. The Firebirds collected eight hits on the day including two apiece from Connor O and Joel V. Zach went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Warriors in hits. Elimination Final 2: Coastal Bay Sharks 6 - Southern Titans 5 Despite seeing its four-run lead whittled down by the end, Coastal Bay Sharks still held off Southern Titans for a 6-5 victory on Sunday. The Titans scored four runs in the failed comeback on a groundout by Conor S in the fifth, a groundout by Jordan M in the sixth, and a error in the sixth. Koby T got the start for the Sharks. The pitcher surrendered five runs on one hit over five and two-thirds innings, striking out three. Josh B started the game for the Titans. Josh surrendered four runs on one hit over one and one-third innings, striking out one and walking one. Leonard G and Lachlan W entered the game from the bullpen, throwing three and a third innings and one-third of an inning respectively. Luan V and Koby each collected one hit to lead Coastal Bay. Jett D led the Titans with one hit in two at bats. Semi-Final 1: Wanneroo Giants 8 - Coastal Bay Sharks 2 Coastal Bay Sharks fell behind early and couldn't come back in an 8-2 loss to Wanneroo Giants on Sunday. The Giants took the lead on a groundout in the first inning. The Sharks struggled to contain the high-powered offense of the Giants, giving up eight runs. Wanneroo got on the board in the first inning. Cooper B grounded out, scoring two runs. Cooper toed the rubber for Wanneroo, lasting five and two-thirds innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out eight. Taylor C started the game for Coastal Bay. The righthander allowed four hits and five runs over three innings, striking out four. Rhys W threw three innings in relief. Byron M, Koby T, and Tane B each collected one hit to lead Coastal Bay. Cooper went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Wanneroo in hits. Semi-Final 2: Eastern Phantoms 14 - Central Firebirds 8 Sebastian C was bad news for opposing pitchers on Sunday, driving in five runs on two hits to lead Eastern Phantoms past Central Firebirds 14-8. Sebastian drove in runs on a triple in the first and a single in the second. Both pitching staffs had their hands full, frequently dealing with runners on base. The Phantoms collected six hits and the Firebirds had five. The Phantoms fired up the offense in the first inning, when Sebastian tripled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs. They tallied five runs in the fifth led by Sebastian, Ethan S, Arata S, and Tex P, all knocking in runs. The Firebirds scored three runs in the third inning on a single by Oliver H. Zai G was on the pitcher's mound for the Phantoms. The southpaw surrendered four runs on four hits over four innings, striking out ten. Preston B toed the rubber for the Firebirds. The righthander surrendered six runs on three hits over one and two-thirds innings, striking out four. Logan H threw three and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen. Sebastian led the Phantoms with two hits in three at bats. Oliver went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Firebirds in hits. The team stole eight bases during the game with two players stealing more than one. Tate V led the way with two. Place Game 1: Southern Titans 17 - Carine Cats 11 Carine Cats watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 17-11 loss to Southern Titans on Sunday. The Titans scored on a single by Leonard G and an error in the first inning. Carine collected five hits and Southern Titans had 14 in the high-scoring affair. The Titans got things started in the first inning when Leonard singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run. Carine notched six runs in the second inning with RBIs from Kaelan L, Matthew T, Oliver N, and Wyatt A. The Titans scored nine runs in the second inning, led by Leonard, Jordan M, Shaun A, Lachlan W, Conor S, and Mark H, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs. Xavier O led things off on the mound for the Titans. The righthander allowed three hits and eight runs over three and a third innings, striking out five. Jackson H toed the rubber for Carine. The hurler went one inning, allowing nine runs on nine hits and striking out one. Kaelan, Matthew, Sullivan W, and Wyatt each entered the game as relief, throwing one and two-thirds innings, one and one-third innings, one and one-third innings, and two-thirds of an inning respectively. Sullivan led Carine with three hits in four at bats. The Titans collected 14 hits. Jordan, Callum S, Xavier, and Leonard each managed multiple hits as Jordan went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead the way. Little League Division 2 Qualifying Final 1: Wanneroo Giants 9 - Sun City Thunder 3 Sun City Thunder fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 9-3 loss to Wanneroo Giants on Sunday. The Giants got things started in the first inning. Brayden G drew a walk, scoring two runs. They also scored four in the fifth on singles by Austin M, Mitchell E, and Chayce B. Mitchell led things off on the pitcher's mound for Wanneroo. Mitchell allowed three hits and two runs over five innings, striking out six. Samuel C led things off on the hill for the Thunder. The righty lasted three and a third innings, allowing three hits and four runs while striking out eight. Anders W threw two and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen. Samuel, Lachlan C, Ashton C, and Summer C each collected one hit to lead Sun City. Wanneroo totaled ten hits in the game including multiple from Mitchell and Harry W. Elimination Final 1: Central Firebirds 28 - Southern Hills Warriors 26 Southern Hills Warriors tried to come back from down eight runs in the fifth inning but fell 28-26 to Central Firebirds on Sunday. The Warriors managed seven runs in the failed comeback. Lachlan V, Dylan D, Corey C, Lachlan, Dylan, and Jaxxon S powered the rally with RBIs. Both teams exchanged the lead back-and-forth in the game, but the Firebirds pulled ahead for good thanks to a home run in the fifth inning. The Firebirds fired up the offense in the first inning, when Alexander C tripled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run. The Warriors put up six runs in the fourth inning. Emma R, Dylan, Aidan G, and Kian W all drove in runs in the frame. Rocco V was on the pitcher's mound for the Firebirds. The bulldog lasted one and two-thirds innings, allowing six hits and eight runs while striking out three. Emma was on the hill for the Warriors. The righthander went three innings, allowing ten runs on eight hits and striking out three. Millar B, Sebastian O, and Dylan each contributed in relief for the Warriors. Southern Hills racked up 20 hits. Dylan, Corey, Emma, Jaxxon, Lachlan, and Ryder W all managed multiple hits as Dylan went 4-for-5. Jaxxon led had three of the team's nine stolen bases. Central Firebirds tallied 25 hits on the day including multiple from Rocco, Alexander, Lucas C, Lucas D, Logan N, and Kailen R. Rocco went 5-for-5 at the plate with six stolen bases. The team was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Alexander had the most chances with four. Qualifying Final 2: Sun City Thunder 18 - Central Firebirds 13 Central Firebirds lost the lead late in an 18-13 defeat to Sun City Thunder on Sunday. Sun City trailed 13-12 in the top of the fifth inning when an error scored two runs. The Firebirds lost despite out-hitting Thunder 15 to seven. Central captured the lead in the first inning on an RBI single from Lucas C. The Firebirds notched six runs in the second inning. The offensive onslaught came from singles by Lucas D and Logan N and a triple by Chayce H. Owen M was on the mound for Sun City. The righthander went two innings, allowing ten runs on nine hits and striking out four. Alexander C was on the hill for the Firebirds, covering four innings, allowing four runs on five hits and striking out six. Alex V, Lucas, and Oliver C each contributed in relief. The Firebirds saw the ball well with 15 hits, including multiple from Alexander, Chayce, Rocco V, Lucas, and Lucas. Chayce and Alexander all had three hits to lead the way as two players stole at least two bases. Sun City totaled seven hits with two apiece from Timothy L and Summer C.
