Baseball WA Festival of Baseball Features Community Engagement for Players, Umpires & Scorers

Baseball WA will round out February 2021 with an exciting array of community engagement activities for the Festival of Baseball, made possible through the support of the WA Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries. 

After a busy summer featuring ABL action, the Tee-Ball Super Challenge, MP70 Summer Champs, and State League 1 games at Empire Ballpark, there will be new opportunities for players, umpires, and scorers with the upcoming engagement and educational events:

• Umpires Clinic – improve your umpiring skills or get started in officiating the game with this clinic on Monday, 22 February at 7:00pm at Wanneroo Giants Baseball Club (Hartman Road and Hepburn Ave, Madeley). Register via email to dgripper@iinet.net.au
• Strength and Conditioning Sessions -  Presented by Diamond Fitness Gym at Empire Ballpark on Monday, 22 February, these two sessions will help both players and coaches.
  • Session 1 – Player/team session with Dean White and Jonny Ogilvie from 4:30-5:30pm with a focus on how strength and conditioning makes you a better player. Register HERE.
  • Session 2 -Coaches session with Jonny Ogilvie from 6:00-7:00pm focusing on increasing velocity and reducing injury through strength and conditioning, including active warm up for all players and an arm care program. Register HERE.
• Scorers Online GameChanger Clinic – register HERE for the clinic on Thursday, 25 February at 7:00pm. Open to all who wish to learn more about scoring on GameChanger.
• Women’s Training on Tuesday, 23 February at Empire Ballpark. Register below.
  • 5:00-6:00pm - youth girls training session with coaches
  • 6:00-6:30pm – guest speaker to youth girls and women
  • 6:30-7:30pm – women’s training session and batting practice with guest speaker
  • 7:30 pm-9:30 pm Women's Super League Grand Final - Jets vs Force
