Two games were washed out but the rest of the Harcher State League matchups got underway this past weekend. Perth got things moving in the first inning, when Brady Oliphant singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run. Morley pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning as Daniel Calverley's sac fly scored one run. The Eagles added six more runs in the seventh inning with RBIs from Kieran Chapman, Zac McMillin, and Josh Silvi. Adam Millson was the winning pitcher for Morley. The ace lasted six innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out four. Silvi threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Jake White took the loss for Perth. The righthander lasted seven innings, allowing nine hits and nine runs while striking out seven. Peter Reyes, Oliphant, Nathan Driessen, Matt Sibley, and Devon Ramirez-Beaver each collected one hit to lead Perth. Morley collected nine hits. Aaron Bonomi went 3-for-4 and Millson had multiple hits, too. Wanneroo 10, Rockingham 2 Rockingham Rams watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 10-2 loss to Wanneroo Giants on Saturday. Wanneroo took the lead on an error in the second inning. Rockingham lost despite out-hitting Wanneroo 11 to 10. Wanneroo fired up the offense in the second inning as an error scored one run. The Giants added four more in the eighth inning, thanks to a single by Courtney Jones and an error on a ball put in play by Daniel Bourke. Frazer Brice pitched Wanneroo to victory. The pitcher allowed two hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out one and walking one. Jordan Matos threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. Samuel Sheppard took the loss for Rockingham. The pitcher surrendered four runs on three hits over three innings, striking out one. Tom Bailey started the game for Wanneroo. The righthander surrendered one run on five hits over four innings, striking out three. Rockingham tallied 11 hits. Finlay Duncan, Tomas Swinson, and Mitchell Field had two hits apiece. Wanneroo racked up ten hits on the day. Jones led the team with three hits in five at-bats while Nicholas Riley and Ethan Cooper had multiple hits, too. Wanneroo didn't commit a single error in the field. Jones had the most chances with eight. Gosnells 11, Vic Park Belmont 3 Gosnells Hawks had no trouble on offense on Sunday, winning big over Victoria Park Belmont Reds 11-3. The Hawks pulled away for good with five runs in the fourth inning. Eli Von Garsen's sac fly scored one run, Louis Scaramella singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs, and Jamie White singled on a 1-0 count, scoring another. One more run came around on an error. Jameson Kruger earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for Gosnells. The pitcher lasted four innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out eight. Maclin Berry threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Andrew Hurrelbrink took the loss for the Reds. The hurler lasted one and one-third innings, allowing two hits and five runs while striking out one. Riley Hall started the game for Gosnells. Hall surrendered three runs on six hits over four innings, striking out two and walking one. Cole Jenkins started the game Vic Park. He allowed two hits and four runs over three innings, striking out two. Scaramella and White had two hits apiece for Gosnells while Zac Meloncelli went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Reds. Perth 5, Carine 1 Perth took home a 5-1 victory over Carine Cats on Sunday. Perth fired up the offense in the first inning. Brady Oliphant singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run. Peter Reyes was on the mound for Perth. The righty lasted seven innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out ten. Jordan Power led things off on the mound for Carine. The bulldog allowed nine hits and three runs over six innings, striking out three and walking one. Tarrant Reimers threw two innings out of the bullpen. Perth hit one home run on the day. Ronnie Sweeny went yard in the first inning. Perth racked up 11 hits on the day. Ezzard Bryant and Oliphant had three hits apiece while Sweeny had two.
