Healthway Celebrates 30 Years of Supporting Grassroots Sports & Promoting Healthy Lifestyles2/12/2021
Baseball WA acknowledges Healthway’s 30th anniversary today and thanks the Western Australia Government’s health promotion agency for all its support over the years.
Since 1991, Healthway has funded more than 5,600 organisations with $455 million in grants. The organisation remains committed to promoting and facilitating good health and encouraging healthy lifestyles in the Western Australian community. Healthway has been a proud partner of WA baseball for all 30 years and proudly supports all diamond sports including tee-ball and softball across the state. From Little League all the way through to Perth Heat in the ABL, Healthway has encouraged people of all ages to get involved and enjoy active lifestyles and healthy choices. “Thank you to Healthway for all the support for baseball and diamond sports throughout the last 30 years,” Baseball WA CEO Lachlan Dale said. “Thanks to Healthway, we are able to offer more opportunities and resources for our clubs, members, and regions ensuring everyone understands the benefits of a healthy lifestyle and gets a chance to take part in our great game.” Smoke-free areas and a reduction in the promotion of unhealthy brands in sport are just some of the ways Healthway has supported baseball across WA over the years. It all began with Parry Field, the former home of WA baseball which was the first sporting venue in Australia to go smoke-free in the early ‘90s. The strong connection between Healthway and baseball continues to this day with the Think Again Little League State Championships, the Perth Heat naming rights partnership, and additional support for many more baseball participation programs.
