 West Australian Liam Hendriks has been named the American League’s Reliever of the Month for May.
Hendriks appeared in 13 games for the Chicago White Sox in May, converting eight saves in as many opportunities. He did not allow an earned run in 11 2/3 innings, striking out 19 and walking two. Hendriks lowered his 2021 ERA to 2.05 following the impressive month of work. The closer previously won the award with Oakland in June 2019 and August 2020.
