Following the inaugural Senior Baseball Club Championship, Baseball WA has gathered feedback as part of an overall event review including a new format for 2022. The tournament format has been expanded to include a qualifier, allowing eight teams to participate whilst still maintaining a main draw of five teams which worked well this year.
With Easter being the middle weekend of the school holidays, the qualifier is set for the weekend of 2-3 April, while the main draw will be the first week of school holidays over 8-12 April. This will assist Hedland in having players available, and these dates will also avoid clashes with State League 1 finals due to the limited availability of Empire Ballpark and players coaching in junior finals. “We are excited to deliver the Senior Baseball Club Championship again in 2022,” Baseball WA Participation Program Manager David Hayes said. “The feedback we received from the first tournament was great, and we look forward to providing an expanded tournament format to give more players from State League 3, A Grade, and Port Hedland the chance to be involved.” Comments are closed.
