The WA baseball community came together in support of the inaugural Indigenous Round for Harcher State League from 18-27 November. 13 clubs donned special jerseys designed by local Indigenous artist Loretta Egan over the rounds and engaged in the community to develop a better relationship with its First Nation local community. “Thank you to everyone who came out to Empire Ballpark and to local clubs to show their support,” Baseball WA CEO Lachlan Dale said. “Every Welcome to Country, Smoking Ceremony, and first pitch played an important role in our Indigenous Round, and we look forward to even bigger and better engagement across our Indigenous Rounds next year as we continue to acknowledge and support the Traditional Owners of the land.” Baseball WA would like to give a special thanks to Loretta Egan for her Indigenous design and artwork, which you can learn more about here: lorettaegansartwork.com/ Comments are closed.
