Wembley Baseball Club has announced the appointment of Nick Alexiou as State League head coach for the 2023/24 season.
A well-known player and coach at the club and around the league, Alexiou has served as Wembley's junior development coach for the past three seasons and most recently coached State League Reserves. He previously coached Pro League, West Coast Rays, and Senior League Charter. Alexiou has regularly played State League and has had selections with Perth Heat. Early in his career, he was selected to represent British Columbia in a tournament of the best-on-best U18 players in Canada. “It’s an honour and privilege to be given the reigns to our State League program next year," Alexiou said. "I’m extremely excited to start laying the foundation for what it means to be a Magpie and to compete at the highest level at our club. I’d like to thank Reed Morris, Joris van Ballegooy, Shane Warner and the rest of the committee for believing in my ability to take our club to the next level.” Stay up-to-date with more Wembley news HERE.
