The 2021 Pro-League program has two new coaches with Jess Williams and Daniel Calverley lined up to lead players through this exciting development program. Williams is a WA player and Perth Heat infielder who coached players in the 2021 MP70 Summer Champs. Calverley comes from Morley Eagles Baseball Club and helped coach the Eastern Phantoms Little League team to a 2020 state title. Pro-League On-Field Coordinator Conor Lourey is pleased to have Williams and Calverley on board, joining Perth Heat and Wembley pitcher Nick Alexiou for this year’s program.

Baseball WA is pleased to confirm Nick Alexiou has joined the 2021 Pro-League program as head coach for one of the teams.
Originally from Vancouver, Canada, Alexiou is a pitcher for the Perth Heat and plays State League 1 at Wembley, where he is a leader in the Magpies baseball community and takes a holistic approach to player development. “I am looking forward to having the opportunity to help develop young athletes here in WA," Alexiou said. Pro-League On-Field Coordinator Conor Lourey is excited about this coaching appointment. “Nick is a valuable addition to the Pro-League coaching staff, and the players this year will greatly benefit from his experiences and his positive influence," Lourey said. In addition to providing strength and conditioning for BWA high performance athletes, Diamond Fitness has confirmed an 8-week strength and conditioning program for Pro-League players. The strength and conditioning sessions will tie in with non-gameday practice sessions at the Empire Ballpark gym and focus on injury prevention, strength development, and physical literacy for the Futures. “We are excited to be involved with the 2021 Pro-League Program season and look forward to guiding these athletes through their strength and conditioning work,” Diamond HP Director Dean White said. “These athletes have bright futures ahead of them and this a great opportunity to ensure they are prepared for more exciting baseball opportunities.” Learn more about the Pro-League season HERE. All members of Peel Diamond Sports, Secret Harbour Pirates District Teeball and Baseball Association, and Rockingham Rams Baseball are advised the following positions are currently vacant and open for nomination for the 2021/22 Little League season.
- Assistant District Administrator (Charter President) - Competitions Manager - Representative Teams Manager - Coaching and Development Manager - Secretary - Treasurer These roles are vital and work alongside the General Committee which is made up of nominated members from each of the three clubs. In order to nominate, you must be a current financial member from the 2020/21 season. Those elected to a general committee role can also apply for an executive role. The charter committee acts as a sub committee for Baseball WA in conjunction with the local clubs and is responsible for the fixturing of games, providing development opportunities for players, coaches, and officials, and selecting representative teams for the State Championships. For information on each of the roles, please review the by-laws available from Baseball WA. Nominations close on 31 May. Roles which have multiple submissions will be voted on in June. Roles which do not get filled will automatically be readvertised for a further 28 days. Roles that only have a single applicant will be given to the applicant. No person can hold more than one executive role. “The Hall of Fame recognises the achievements of those who have played a momentous role in shaping our great game with remarkable on-field contributions,” Baseball WA CEO Lachlan Dale said. “It was wonderful to honour these inductees at the Baseball WA Awards Night last month, and we are excited to highlight their history on our website.” 34 players and officials were inducted to the inaugural Hall of Fame, spanning playing eras from the 1930s to the early 2000s. The BWA Hall of Fame website section will be maintained and updated every year to celebrate the accomplishments of the state’s most outstanding players.
