Kalamunda Rangers 4 v Braves 5 Braves Baseball Club seized victory in dramatic walk-off fashion, thanks to a walk-off single at the end of the game to topple Kalamunda Rangers. The game was tied at four with the Braves batting in the bottom of the seventh when Matthew Froude singled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring one run. Kalamunda got things started in the first inning as Jackson Pollard's sac fly scored one run. Froude was credited with the victory for the Braves. The bulldog allowed four hits and zero runs over three and a third innings, walking zero. Chris Bishop took the loss for Kalamunda. The bulldog allowed three hits and two runs over one inning, striking out one and walking one. Kalia Borgomastro started the game for the Braves, lasting three and two-thirds innings, allowing ten hits and four runs while striking out two and walking one. Pollard started the game for Kalamunda. The pitcher went five and a third innings, allowing three runs on seven hits and striking out two. The Braves tallied ten hits including two apiece for Froude and Neil Major. Kalamunda racked up 14 hits as Dave Ryan went 3-for-4 and Brandon Naughton, Liam Cubbage, Kyle Cornfield, and Luke Williamson recording multiple hits too. A five-run seventh inning led Wanneroo Giants to an 8-1 victory over the Braves to finish off an undefeated tournament. Andrew Walsh, Travis Erdmann, Brendan Lee, and Mitchell Belton all drove in runs in the frame. Aaron Home grounded out into a double play but still was able to knock in one run for Wanneroo in the first. The Braves tied things up at one in the top of the third inning on Michael Ewart's sac fly. Wanneroo pulled away for good with two runs in the fifth inning when Walsh doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run. Home doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run as well. The Giants put up five runs in the seventh inning with RBIs from Walsh, Erdmann, Lee, and Belton. Tama Pihama was the winning pitcher for Wanneroo, lasting four innings, allowing two hits, and zero runs while striking out five and walking zero. Rockingham Rams 1 v Wanneroo Giants 16 Rockingham Rams fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 16-1 loss to Wanneroo Giants on Monday. Wanneroo scored on a single by Travis Erdmann in the first and a double by David Moss in the second. The Rams struggled to contain the high-powered offense of the Giants, giving up 16 runs. Rockingham knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the first inning, when Mike Thompson singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run. Wanneroo pulled away for good with one run in the second. Moss doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. The Giants scored six runs in the fourth inning with a fielder's choice by Greg Elliott and a double by Erdmann. Tama Pihama pitched Wanneroo to victory. The pitcher surrendered one run on nine hits over seven innings, striking out nine. Karl Weeber took the loss for Rockingham. The pitcher surrendered eight runs on ten hits over four innings, striking out one and walking one. Rockingham saw the ball well today, racking up nine hits in the game. Blake Thompson, Josh Eddy, Thompson, and Bruce Hepburn all managed multiple hits as Thompson went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the way. Wanneroo scattered 23 hits in the game. James Dixon, Rhys Thompson, Aaron Home, Elliott, Moss, Erdmann, and Mark Argiropoulos each collected multiple hits as the team was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Kalamunda Rangers 7 v Port Hedland 6 Monday's game against Kalamunda Rangers was a heartbreaker for Port Hedland, as they lost the lead late in a 7-6 defeat. The game was tied at six with the Rangers batting in the top of the fourth when Brendan Morris singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. Despite the loss, Port Hedland did collect three hits in the high-scoring affair. Kalamunda had 11 hits on the way to victory. The Rangers got on the board in the first inning. Kalamunda scored one run when Kyle Cornfield doubled. The Rangers took the lead for good with four runs in the fourth inning as Travis Wright grounded out, scoring one run. Cornfield was credited with the victory for Kalamunda. The fireballer lasted four and a third innings, allowing three hits and six runs while striking out five. Chris Bishop threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen. Eugene Cheong took the loss for Port Hedland. The Braves scored on a single by Donald Ismail in the first inning and a base hit by Joshua Morris in the second. Despite the loss, Rockingham did collect 13 hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately for the Rams, their opponents had 16 hits on the way to victory. The Braves opened up scoring in the first inning when Ismail singled on a 3-2 count to bring home a run. Rockingham scored six runs in the seventh inning on singles by Cooper Davey, Jeff Wishart, and Mike Thompson and a double by Graeme Cook. The Braves scored nine runs in the fifth inning on RBIs from Steve McLaughlin, Grant Lawson, Jordan Nuttall, Stuart Vaughan-Davies, and Morris.
